Masters Marathon Canoe

Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years of age or older as of the day of competition. For more specific details read Masters Eligibility Rules.

Fee : $25.00

Events Contested: Solo Canoe & Kayak, and Tandem Canoe

Competition Format:
- Male and Female Events
- Age Groups: (M & W) 18-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+
- One Loop Course: 10 miles (solo canoe men, tandem canoe men & women, solo kayak men); 5 miles (solo canoe & kayak women)

Rules:
- Boat specifications: New York Marathon Canoe Racing, Inc. (NYMCRA) specifications apply.
- 3x27 “pro” boats will be allowed as well as 4x32 cruisers, standard, standard traditional, and recreational canoes in tandem canoe classes.
- 4X32 Amateur, recreational and standard canoes allowed in solo classes.
- Participants may enter only one race class (select one solo OR one tandem class)
- Solo Paddlers must race in their own age group.
- Younger member of the tandem team determines age group.

Competition Schedule:  Competition will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2008 on a one loop course (10 miles) on the Susquehanna River, starting and finishing near the boat ramp at Hickories Park, Owego. Start time 11 am by class. Participants must check in at pavilion #2 between 9 am - 10:30 am on Saturday prior to racing.
